    Facing storm damage to their roofing and siding, homeowners decided to change things up this time around with their exterior design. Gabriel Antiel was the perfect man for the job.

    Moving away from their damaged wood shake siding, homeowners decided on Exterior Portfolio Market Square in the color Carbon. The roofing was replaced with GAF Timberline HDZ shingles in the color Charcoal. Overall, these two remodels gave this home an entirely different look… and it is beautiful!

    Project Description

    Due to storm damage, homeowners contacted Capital Construction for a home makeover. Cody Mulder was assigned the job and did an excellent job with the work and communication.

    The roof replacement was done with GAF Timberline HDZ shingles in the Shakewood colorway. The siding was fitted with new LP Smartside Expert Finish in the beautiful Timberland Suede colorway. In the end, this home looks completely different from before. Capital to the rescue again!

    Project Description

    Hail damaged this home’s roof. The roof was replaced with GAF Timberline HDZ shingles in the color Charcoal!

    Then, the homeowners wanted to modernize the look of their home AND install a more protective product to withstand the harsh Minnesota elements.

    They created a rendering with the project consultant.

    They decided to bring this vision to life using Exterior Portfolio Market Square vinyl lap siding in the color Slate on the sides and back of the home.

    This is a common phenomenon we call the Minnesota Mullet.  It’s when the front of the home is hardboard siding and the sides and back of the home are vinyl! This is a great option if you want to up your curb appeal, but you don’t want to empty your pockets doing so!

    For the front of the home, they chose to go with LP Smartside. On the lower parts of the home, the lap siding was installed, and on the gables and higher points of the home, they chose Board & Batten. The color for these materials is Midnight Shadow.

    Project Description

    This home is outfitted with the Minnesota Mullet. This phenomenon we have only seen here in the great state of Minnesota! It’s when the front of the home is hardboard siding and the sides and back of the home are vinyl! This is a great option if you want to up your curb appeal, but you don’t want to empty your pockets doing so!

    It worked well for this home, when hail cam through the area, only 3 sides of this home were damaged. The front of the home, protected by hardboard siding was left looking almost new. 

    As for the damaged 3 sides, Royal Estate vinyl siding in the color Harvard Slate was installed to match the front.

    One of the top trends of this decade – Modern Farmhouse.

    This homeowner came to Capital Construction looking to restore the storm damage and transform her home!

    A dark roof was installed (Owens Corning in Onyx Black) was installed to match the future siding and trim.

    After the roof was installed, the Capital team worked with the homeowner and FB Custom Painting to make dreams come true. Capital installed Exterior Portfolio Market Square vinyl siding and a thick wood trim around the windows and sides of the home. FB Custom Painting then painted the trim black, transforming this home into a Modern Farmhouse.

    When Justin first met the homeowners, their house was tan, had old windows, and was damaged from a recent storm. 

    Justin coordinated with the painters and the preexisting window company to fully restore this home. 

    To complete their exterior renovation, Justin worked with the homeowners to install a dark colored roof – GAF Timberline HDZ shingles in the color Charcoal. And, to match the white painted stucco, the back of the home is now covered in Exterior Portfolio Market square vinyl siding in the color Aspen White. The combination of lap and board & batten siding helps modernize this home!

    This is a COMPLETE exterior renovation!

    The first step was a new roof, the homeowners chose a dark dark gray shingle. GAF Timberline HDZ int he color Charcoal.

    Next, the crew tore off the existing aluminum siding around the windows. This makes it easier to properly install windows since every window was being replaced.

    The homeowners chose Marvin Ultimate windows and siding doors in the exterior finish of Ebony Clad and interior finish of Bare Pine. 

    Then, the rest of the siding was torn off. The perfect choice to modernize and add another level of protection is LP SmartSide. 

    The crew installed lap siding around the majority of the house in Snowscape White. Then, on the upper levels, the same color in a board & batten. And, to add dimension more board & batten in the color Marshland Moss. 

    Next, the crew is installing white gutters and downspouts to match the updated look!

    We love when we get to be creative with our clients.

    This home was once a regular tan home. Now, the home has interesting dimension thanks to the creative use of materials!

    First, the roof was replaced because it was damaged by hail. The homeowners chose to use the #1 shingle in America – GAF Timberline HDZ in the color Charcoal.

    Then, the siding was replaced. On majority of the home, Exterior Portfolio Market Square vinyl lap (horizontal) siding in the color Peppercorn was installed. Over the garage, two different materials were installed to create dimension. On the left garage gable, Exterior Portfolio Board & Batten (vertical) siding was installed in the same color, Peppercorn! On the right garage gable, Exterior Portfolio Portsmouth Shakes in the color Rustic Gray were installed!

    All of these siding materials and colors are pieced together with white trim!

    Finally, gutters in the color Claytone and Polar White downspouts were installed to finish up this home makeover.
