Looking for a more dimensional look or more protection for your home but not sure what to ask for?

There are two types of asphalt shingles, here are the main differences!

3 Tab

These were installed mostly in the early 2000's. They last for around 20 years.

These shingles are made with a strip of asphalt and 3 tabs - hence the name!

The wind rating for these shingles is around 70 mph.

So, if you have these installed on your home, you may find missing shingles after the next wind storm.

Architectural

These shingles are made of many layers, giving your a more dimensional look and more protection!

These shingles last around 30 years and have a 130mph wind rating!

We recommend you use architectural shingles.

They look better, offer you more protection and offer you more protection!

If you're in the market for a new roof, be sure to ask your contractor for more details on architectural shingles!
